Alright, yeah, so I'm not so good with the updates. No excuses, except - I'm in Prague. :D
Anyway, so my weekends have been vastly more exciting than my weeks, so I'm just going to talk about those!
So, two weekends ago (Sept 9-10), I went on a two-day hiking trip through NYU to Sumava. Sumava is a national park area in the Bohemian forest, in the south-west area of the Czech Republic. It was absolutely gorgeous, of course, and the trip featured visits to a glass factory, a World War II bunker and some adorable little towns. And, of course, a bunch of cheap beer. I have pictures, which are on my computer but haven't quite made it online yet. But soon!
The next weekend was spent in Prague, and it was probably the best weekend to stay here. It was beautiful, and mostly sunny, and there was a wine festival! So, the weekend consisted of a lot of wandering around Prague, a bunch of fun nights out with friends, a beer garden, and a lot of wine tasting.
Now, I'm not just sitting around boozing it up over here - my classes have actually been surprisingly hard, though not in a bad way. They're just surprisingly challenging and intellectually stimulating. Which is good! But weekends have been reserved for sleeping and hanging out and enjoying the cities we're in, and it is kinda nice to be legally able to drink.
Anyway, in about half an hour, I'll be leaving for Amsterdam and Berlin. Tuesday is a big national holiday, so we have Monday and Tuesday off, which makes this weekend a great weekend to travel all the way over to Amsterdam. We're busing the whole way, which will be an interesting way to pass the time, though we timed most of our buses to be overnight so it's not so bad. And I'll get my first hostel experiences! Will definitely inform you all as to how that goes.
In other news, for those of you who're curious about my writing, I've got a post up on the Prague Wanderer, and some blog posts up on Rollinglobe. My class stuff isn't online anywhere, but if you're really curious about solar panels or the TV tower or homelessness policies, let me know.
Well, I miss you all dearly. Especially you Dukies - I'll be rooting for you guys against Army, and I'm sad to be missing homecoming! Feel free to pop me an email any time (although sometimes I'm terrible about responding promptly).
